I was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley. I was valedictorian of my class in Rio Grande City High School in 1998 and attended UT Pan American through the Premedical Honors College, where I graduated Summa Cum Laude with honors in 2002. I met my husband in medical school in San Antonio, and we have been married since 2006. We have two children, both boys, who keep us busy with activities such as basketball and music/piano.
We attend Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mission, TX
Hobbies / Interests:
I enjoy exercising, reading, playing piano, saxophone and guitar, and spending time with my family.
Why did you decide to become a doctor? Why did you move to Mission, TX?
“When I was eight years old, my mother was diagnosed with cancer. I witnessed her incredible strength as she went through surgery and chemotherapy. This increased my faith and trust in the Lord, and sparked in me an interest in medicine. I wanted to make a positive difference through serving others in our community."
My favorite movies are The Princess Bride and the Back to the Future Trilogy. My favorite books are The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch and any humorous memoirs about motherhood.
